FABULOUS FRIDAY!

We love Fridays!  

Today Mrs Lunn brought us in a tent to play in but first we had to assemble it!

We thought it was great fun doing our work in the tent.  

Mrs Lunn made us a new game to play too.

We also had Word Power today.  Jessica remains our remaining champ.  She wrote 70 words in five minutes.  What an awesome effort Jessica!

WALK-A-THON WINNERS!

Congratulations to our Walk-a-thon Winners!!!

Cameron, Samuel, Lucas, Jessica and Stevie, all won prizes at the Walk-a-thon Assembly.  As a school we raised over $6000!
LC 15 had the largest number of children return their money so THANK YOU to all the fabulous LC 15 kids and their families.

FEELINGS WORKSHOP!

On Tuesday, a group of children took part in a Writing Workshop.  The workshop was teaching them how to include feelings in their writing.  They had to read one of their stories and think about how they or their character was feeling at that time.  Next they had to think of different words to describe that feeling and write their choices on a paint strip.  Once they had finished, they read  the words to a friend and together they decided which was the best word to use.  The kids then added this new word into their story.  We were really surprised to see how much better the stories sounded with just a few extra words added to them.  Great job guys!

FUN AT MATHS!

We have been busy in Maths this week.  Here are a couple of photos of us.  Julia, Jessica and Macy have been playing the Paint a Number game and then Jessica joined Cameron and Matty in practising their number bonds. 

JERMAINE'S MYSTERY KETE SURPRISE!

On Friday, Jermaine shared his Mystery Kete clues with us.  Macy guessed that it was a Train.  We think she must know that Jermaine loves Thomas the Tank Engine!

ARTIST HOUR - PASTEL FLOWERS!

We had a lovely Artist Hour on Friday.  We used pastels for the first time.  We loved how we could get the colours to blend together.  We used close up pictures of flowers as our inspiration.  The teachers were really impressed with us.  We even surprised ourselves with how amazing our artworks turned out!

THE RIVERDALE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY!

Yesterday we had the School Cross Country!  We had a great time and were really proud of ourselves.  Nate, Ashlyn and Isabel won their races.  They got a medal!

Everyone tried really hard and the teachers are all super proud of us!
