MACHINES ALIVE!

Today we got to choose which activity we wanted to do.
Those kids that stayed in the Rainbow Room, did an activity called Machines Alive!

We listened to some music and pretended to be robots.  We had to do some actions.

Then Mrs Lunn gave us some pictures of toys.  We chose which picture we wanted to do and we made up some actions for how we thought it would move.

Baeley, Bailey and Zia were a rocking horse

Cameron, Kalas, Dylan and Saul were a racing car

Sam, Jack, Tyler and Issac were a train

Jayden, George, Riley and Alex were a toy boat

Ethan, Leah and Naomi were a rocking horse

To be successful, we had to think creatively.  We talked about our ideas and we gave them a go and changed them if we needed to.

We did it!

Well done guys!

DAWSON'S WICKED WEDNESDAY!

Yesterday afternoon, Dawson chose to go home with Saul's little brother Guy.
They had a the coolest afternoon ever!  Here are some photos showing what Dawson, Guy and Saul got up to...

The three boys drove to Foxton Beach.  Good job Dawson for wearing your seat-belt!

They enjoyed fish and chips on the beach for tea.

Aw... so cute!

Dawson got to meet Saul and Guy's new puppy!

Dawson and the boys finished off the busy day with a few stories in bed.

Thanks for taking such great care of Dawson, Guy and Saul.
He is so lucky to have you both as friends.

GREATER THAN AND LESS THAN!

Today in Maths we learnt about greater than and less than.  We made a greedy crocodile mouth.  The mouth ALWAYS opens to the biggest number.

Next we made two sets of different sizes.  We put the crocodile mouth facing the biggest set.  Then we read the mathematical sentence.
For example:  2 is less than 5
5 is greater than 1

You could get us to practice this at home.

WHAT'S MISSING?

Today in Maths we made patterns.  Then our friend 'stole' one of our objects when we weren't looking.  We had to guess what was missing.

Here are some of the ways we figured it out:

  • "I read the pattern to figure out what was missing" - Max U
  • "Sephia read the pattern to see what was missing" - Leah
  • "Molly thought, which one is missing?" - Stevie
  • "I just looked at the pattern and then I figured it out" - Kalas
  • "I repeated my pattern" - Nate
  • "I memorised my pattern and so I could tell which one was missing" - Noah

You might like to play this cool game with us at home!
