WISE OLD OWLS!

Today in Artist Hour, we used pastels to create these AMAZING stylised owl pictures.  We think they turned out really well.  Mrs Lunn has hung them up in the cloak bay so the children and parents of both classes can admire them.

MARKET DAY!

Yesterday some girls from Pounamu Atawhai came and invited us to hold our own Market Day like what they do!

We we really excited but we have LOTS to decide.

We wrote down all our Wonderings...

When should we have our Market Day?
Where should we hold it?
What shall we sell?
How will we make the things?
How much will we sell them for?

Our teachers will help us answer these questions over the next few weeks!

WRITERS' WORKSHOP - CHARACTER VOICE!

Some of the children have been working on using character voice in their writing.  These are a few photos Mrs Lunn took at their workshop.  They had to choose a character and write a speech bubble showing what they might say.

HAPPY 100 DAYS!

Yesterday marked our 100th Day of School!  We are 100 days smarter!  Our teachers made a whole lot of activities that revolve around the number 100.  We had a fantastic day.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!

We have been learning about Money in Mathematics.  Today we cut prices out of newspaper and we had to read them.  

We are getting pretty good at it!

Ways to help at home:

Get us to read prices in the junk mail and tell you which is the cheapest, or most expensive on the page.  

We could cut out a shopping list of items we'd like to buy.  

When we go to the supermarket with you, we could help read the prices on figure out which the cheapest.  

We might even save you some money!

WELCOME TO TERM THREE!

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a great holiday and are looking forward to another great term at school.  I can't wait to see you all!

We have three new children starting in LC 15 today; Zoha, Miya and Ella.

RIGHT CHOICE DAY!

We had a great time on the last day of term travelling around the World.  Here's a few photos Mrs Lunn took of us in France.  We are building the Eiffel Tower!

CO-OPERATIVE WRITING!

Today as an extra special treat we did Co-operative Writing.  What this means is that we worked as a group to  come up with a story based on this picture prompt.  We were really good at sharing all our ideas and came up with some amazing stories!
