PLANTING OUR POTS!
Today we planted some pots for Mrs Peck. We had strict criteria that we had to stick to when we decided what plants to put in. After a lot of investigating we decided to plant Polyanthas and Pansies. Here is the process we went through...

First we cut the weed mat |

Then we put it in the bottom of the pot over the drain hole so the dirt won't fall out and bugs can't get in |

Next we add stones on the bottom to help with drainage |

We put in some potting mix up to the 2/3 mark |

We needed to loosen the roots so the plant doesn't become root-bound |

Place the plants carefully in the pot and push the soil around them |

Put more plants in to fill up the pot |

Ask someone super strong to lift the pots outside - thanks Ben's Dad! |

Arrange the pot so it looks good |

MRS PECK'S PROBLEM!
Guess what!
She wrote to us today asking us if we could help her by planting some flowers in a couple of planter pots that she found in the storage shed down by the pool. She'd like us to plant them so the pots can be on display at the Science Expo next week!
Of course we said we would help - we are the best helpers EVER!
Mrs Peck has set us some criteria that we have to follow:
We decided, like with any problem we have to solve, we'd better use Te Ako Ritenga (our Inquiry Process).
So today we started with WONDER...
Here are a few photos of us working in our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) groups.
We were busy brainstorming all the things we would need to know and do to help Mrs Peck.
Tomorrow we think we need to go down to the pool to find the pots so we can see EXACTLY what we are dealing with!
We will keep you informed of our progress...

Mrs Peck has set us some criteria that we have to follow:
- The flowers must be in bloom for the Expo
- The plants can be no taller than 30cm high
- The flowers must be bright and attractive

LC 15 & 16 FABULOUS ASSEMBLY!
Today LC 15 & 16 presented Assembly. We had a couple of technical hiccups due to flat batteries in the microphone (whoops) but we coped very well and our teachers were super proud of us!

Here are a few photos of us during assembly. Don't we look cute!

Here is Noah being the rain in our Flowers, Stem, Leaves and Roots song!
This is a photo of us and our proud teachers!
